Who we are. . . .
InsuranCenter of Alpena began serving its clients in Northeast Michigan in 1984. Since that time, our team has grown to a staff of 18 insurance professionals with combined experience of over 220 years! InsuranCenter’s team of professional, caring, conscientious people is committed to maintaining the highest standard of excellence in all that we do. Each team member shares a deep appreciation for quality customer and personal service. Our people live in the communities they serve, and provide the perspective that is only available from a local business.
InsuranCenter of Alpena has been a provider of BCBS products since 1985 and in 1988 became the Exclusive Agent of Record for the Northeast Chamber of Commerce BCBS programs. Our staff has provided service assistance to over 90 agents throughout Michigan for over 2000 groups. We offer Cobra administration as well as MCS service for on-line membership and record changes, which allows us to provide our clients with the service they deserve.
Our goal is to establish a firm, long-lasting partnership built on trust and service with each of our clients. In addition, being proactive for our clients, we continually strive to update health care providers such as Priority Health and PPOM which were added in 2006.
As an independent agency, we are able to provide insurance for auto, home, life, disability and business, as well as group health and group life and disability. Because we represent a wide range of insurance companies, we have the flexibility to select the company that offers the most comprehensive protection, tailored to your individual or business needs, at a very competitive price.

Sandy Grant, President
Sandy Grant joined the ICA team in 1986 as a receptionist and customer service representative in the P&C Department, transferring to the benefits department in 1988 and eventually becoming manager of that department and the Northeast Chamber of Commerce BCBS program in 1988. She was named President of InsuranCenter in March 2005 and serves on the ICA Board of Directors. Sandy has 24 years combined insurance industry experience and is licensed for both property and casualty and life and health insurance. Sandy is a member of the Alpena Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and sits on the Alpena Regional Medical Center Business Relations Committee.

Mark Boyk, Chief Operating Officer
Mark Boyk has over 24 years experience in the insurance industry, having begun his career with the Prudential Insurance Company in 1983. He joined the InsuranCenter team in 1991 as a producer, going on to accept responsibilities of Sales Manager and has just recently been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. He holds designations as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). Mark serves on the Alpena Regional Medical Center Planned Gifts Committee and is a past Alpena Chamber of Commerce Board member.
